Since June 2026, you can connect your Google Business Profile to the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com and run parts of it by chat. Gemini can update your hours, contact info and links, draft replies to reviews, create posts, sum up what customers say and show your profile’s numbers. It works if you own or manage only one verified profile and sign in with a personal Google account.
Google announced the feature on June 10, 2026. Everything below comes from Google’s own help pages and announcement, checked on October 22, 2026. Google can change these rules at any time.
Key takeaways
- What it is: a Connected App inside the Gemini web app. Once connected, you ask Gemini in plain words and it reads or changes your Business Profile.
- Who can use it: an owner or manager of only one verified Business Profile, 18 or over, signed in with a personal Google account, with Keep Activity on. Work and school accounts can’t connect.
- Reviews: Gemini shows your reviews, sums them up and drafts or deletes replies. Google’s help page doesn’t say Gemini posts a reply for you, so check each draft and make sure it goes live.
- More than one location: if your Google account can reach two or more verified profiles, the feature isn’t available to you. That rules out most multi-location owners and agencies, who use a review tool such as ReputeMap instead.
- Region: Google’s June announcement left out the EEA and the UK. Its help pages no longer list that exclusion (October 22, 2026).
What Gemini can do with your Business Profile
Gemini can change many of the details on your profile, work with your reviews and posts, and read your performance numbers. Google’s help page lists these parts:
| Part of your profile | What Gemini can do |
|---|---|
| Hours | Change your regular weekly hours, or set special hours for holidays and events |
| Contact info and links | Check and change your website and social media links; manage links for online ordering, reservations and appointments |
| Description | Update it (one of Google’s example prompts) |
| Photos | Upload new photos from a public URL, or find photos you or your customers added |
| Attributes | Check and change details such as “Outdoor Seating” or “Wi-Fi” (the options depend on your business category) |
| Food menus | Create, update or delete menus, with sections, dishes, descriptions and prices (food businesses) |
| Reviews | Show star ratings and reviews, with their photos; sum up what customers say, including common themes |
| Review replies | Draft or delete replies |
| Posts | Create, schedule, publish or delete Update, Offer and Event posts |
| Insights | Show impressions, website clicks, direction requests and bookings, plus the search keywords people used to find you |
| Profile status | Show your location details and the status of your profile |
Google’s example prompts give a feel for it: “Summarize my recent reviews”, “Help me draft a reply to my latest review”, “Show me my performance metrics for the past month” and “What are the top search keywords driving traffic to my business”.
Business notebooks
Once your profile is connected, Gemini can also make a business notebook: a space in the sidebar, named after your business, that holds your profile, your website and your chats about the business. When you open it, it suggests things to do, such as filling in missing hours or a description, adding an exterior photo, or checking how your profile is doing. Google’s announcement adds alerts such as an unanswered customer question or holiday hours that haven’t been set yet.
Who can use it
Google’s help page lists four requirements. You must:
- Own or manage only one verified Business Profile. If your account has access to more than one verified profile, the feature isn’t available.
- Be 18 or over.
- Sign in with a personal Google account that’s linked to your Business Profile. Google says work and school accounts can’t use it “for now”.
- Have Keep Activity on. Keep Activity is the Gemini setting that stores your chats in your Google account. It’s on by default for adults, and Gemini can’t connect to Business Profile when it’s off.
Where it works. The help page says the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com. Google’s Connected Apps table also lists the Gemini app for Windows, but not the Gemini mobile app. It works in typed chats only, not in Gemini Live, and in every language the Gemini web app supports.
Where in the world. When Google announced the feature on June 10, 2026, it said the rollout excluded the European Economic Area and the UK. As of October 22, 2026, Google’s help page says it is available wherever the Gemini web app is supported, and the Connected Apps table lists no exclusion. Google rolls these features out gradually, so if you’re in Europe and don’t see it, check again later.
How to connect Google Business Profile to Gemini
- Open gemini.google.com on a computer.
- Sign in with the personal Google account you use for your Business Profile.
- Ask about your profile, for example “Show me my recent customer reviews”.
- Add @Google Business Profile to the prompt if Gemini doesn’t pick up your profile.
- Connect when Gemini offers it, and follow the steps on screen.
You can disconnect it at any time in Gemini’s Connected Apps settings.
To add a business notebook, look for the option on gemini.google.com and select Connect, then enter or confirm your business website. If the option isn’t there, add @Google Business Profile to a prompt and Gemini should offer it. The notebook then sits in the sidebar under Notebooks.
Can Gemini reply to Google reviews?
It drafts them. Google’s help page says Gemini can “draft or delete” replies to reviews. For posts, the same page says Gemini can create, schedule and publish them. For replies, it doesn’t say Gemini posts them for you, and Google’s announcement also talks about drafting. So treat Gemini’s reply as a draft:
- Ask for it. “Help me draft a reply to my latest review” is Google’s own example.
- Check it before it goes live. Look at names, dates, prices and any promise of a refund or a free visit. A draft can get those wrong.
- Make sure it gets posted. If Gemini offers to post it, look under the review afterwards. If it doesn’t, post the reply from your Business Profile on Google Search or Maps.
- Give Google time. Google checks owner replies against its content policies before they show: usually within 10 minutes, sometimes up to 30 days. A reply that isn’t approved comes back to you to edit.
Google’s pages describe drafting when you ask. They don’t describe answering new reviews by themselves, or telling you the moment a 1★ review lands. How to word a reply, with templates for good and bad reviews, is in how to respond to Google reviews. Why Google turns some replies down, and what it takes to answer reviews automatically with other tools, is in replying to Google reviews automatically.
What Gemini can’t do (as of October 2026)
| Limit | What Google says | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| More than one profile | Not available to owners or managers with access to more than one verified Business Profile | A second location, or a manager role on someone else’s profile, takes your account out of the feature |
| Work or school accounts | Not available “for now” | Use the personal Google account that owns or manages the profile |
| Keep Activity | Has to be on | Your Gemini chats, including the ones about your reviews, stay in your Google account (deleted after 18 months by default) |
| Mobile app | Listed for the Gemini web app and the Windows app only | Use the web app on a computer |
| Voice | Chats only | Gemini Live can’t use it |
| New reviews | Drafting is described when you ask; Google describes no automatic answers or alerts for new reviews | Someone still has to open Gemini and ask about each review |
If you run more than one location, or manage clients’ profiles
Under Google’s current rules, Gemini isn’t an option for you. The rule isn’t “one profile at a time”. It’s “only if your account can reach just one”. A business with two locations, a franchise manager, or an agency added as a manager on its clients’ profiles all fall outside it.
What they use instead:
- Business Profile itself. Reply from Google Search or Maps, one profile at a time. It’s free and fine for two or three locations with a few reviews a week.
- An automation flow. Zapier, Make or n8n can post replies through Google’s API, with an AI step you build and maintain (what that takes).
- A review tool. It connects all your profiles through Google’s Business Profile API and puts the reviews in one place (how to manage reviews across locations).
How ReputeMap handles many locations
ReputeMap is a review tool built for that third case. As of October 22, 2026:
- All locations in one inbox. You connect each Business Profile once, on Google’s own sign-in screen. Every location’s Google reviews land in one inbox you can filter by location, rating and replied or not. Plans cover 1 to 200 locations.
- AI drafts in your voice. Each draft uses your saved tone and details, and it’s written in the language the review was written in.
- A backlog in one go. Draft replies for all writes a draft for each review still waiting for a reply. Review & post all then shows each draft next to its review, with a box to tick, and you can edit any of them. One Post N replies to Google button posts the ticked ones (owners and admins can use it).
- Auto-reply, only if you want it. Auto-reply to new reviews is off until an owner or admin switches it on, on paid plans, and covers new 4–5★ reviews by default (how the switch works).
- Alerts. A 1–3★ review triggers an alert by email, Telegram or WhatsApp, on every plan.
- Reports and a client portal. PDF reports across your locations and a read-only client portal come with every plan. From Pro ($49/mo, 30 locations), they carry your logo and colors, and reports can go out on a schedule (white-label review management).
What ReputeMap doesn’t do: it handles Google reviews only. It doesn’t change hours, photos, menus or posts, and it doesn’t show Business Profile insights such as impressions or search keywords. For those, use Business Profile itself, or Gemini if you qualify.
Gemini vs ReputeMap at a glance
Gemini facts are from Google’s help pages; ReputeMap’s are from its own product. Both checked October 22, 2026.
| Gemini with Google Business Profile | ReputeMap | |
|---|---|---|
| Profiles | One verified profile; not available with access to more than one | 1 to 200 locations, by plan |
| Google account | Personal account, 18 or over, Keep Activity on | The Google account that owns or manages the profiles, connected once on Google’s sign-in screen |
| Where you use it | Gemini web app (and the Windows app), in chats | Web app, plus alerts by email, Telegram or WhatsApp |
| Review replies | Drafts or deletes a reply when you ask | Drafts one reply or all waiting replies; post them one at a time or all ticked ones at once |
| Auto-reply to new positive reviews, opt-in | Not described by Google | Yes: paid plans, 4–5★ by default, in the reviewer’s language |
| New 1–3★ reviews | Not described; the notebook shows suggestions when you open it | An alert by email, Telegram or WhatsApp |
| Feedback themes | Sums up reviews and common themes | Sentiment and topics AI on every plan |
| Hours, photos, menus, posts | Yes | No: Google reviews only |
| Profile insights | Impressions, website clicks, direction requests, bookings, search keywords | No |
| Team and clients | One person’s personal account | Team seats (1 on Solo, unlimited on Network), PDF reports and a client portal; white-label from Pro |
| Price | No price listed by Google | $19/mo for 1 location to $189/mo for 200; 14-day free trial, card required |
Which one should you use?
- One location and a personal Google account: start with Gemini. Google lists no price for it, and it also handles hours, posts and photos, which ReputeMap doesn’t.
- One location, and you also want alerts and reports: keep Gemini for profile edits and add a review tool for 1–3★ alerts and PDF reports. ReputeMap’s Solo plan is $19/mo for one location.
- Two or more locations, or client profiles: Gemini won’t connect, so use Business Profile itself or a review tool. Multi-location review management software explains what to look for, and review management software for agencies covers the client side.
Whatever tool writes the draft, the reply shows as your business’s reply, and Google checks it against the same content policies.

Frequently asked questions
Can Gemini manage my Google Business Profile?
Yes, if you own or manage only one verified Business Profile. Connect it in the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com, signed in with a personal Google account, and Gemini can update your hours, contact info and links, draft replies to reviews, create posts, sum up your reviews and show your profile's numbers. Google's help page says it isn't available to owners or managers who have access to more than one verified profile (checked October 22, 2026).
Can Gemini reply to Google reviews for me?
Gemini drafts a reply when you ask for one. Google's help page says it can "draft or delete" replies to reviews. For posts, the same page says Gemini can also publish them; for replies it doesn't say that, and it describes no automatic answers to new reviews. Check each draft, make sure the reply shows under the review, and allow for Google's moderation: owner replies are checked against Google's content policies, usually within 10 minutes and sometimes up to 30 days.
Why can't I connect Google Business Profile to Gemini?
Usually one of Google's requirements isn't met. You need access to only one verified Business Profile, a personal Google account rather than a work or school one, to be 18 or over, Keep Activity switched on, and the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com rather than the Gemini mobile app. If Gemini doesn't use your profile, add @Google Business Profile to your prompt.
Is Gemini for Google Business Profile available in the UK and the EU?
Google's current help pages no longer exclude them. Google's June 10, 2026 announcement said the rollout excluded the European Economic Area and the UK. As of October 22, 2026, its Business Profile help page says the feature is available wherever the Gemini web app is supported, and its Connected Apps table lists no exclusion. If you're in Europe and don't see the option yet, look again later: Google rolls these features out gradually.
Can agencies or multi-location businesses use Gemini for Google Business Profile?
Not while their Google account can reach more than one verified profile. Google's help page says the feature isn't available to owners or managers who have access to more than one verified Business Profile, and that covers most agencies and multi-location operators. They reply from Business Profile itself or use a review tool connected to Google's Business Profile API, such as ReputeMap, which puts 1 to 200 locations in one inbox.
Does Gemini for Google Business Profile cost anything?
Google lists no price or paid plan for it. Its requirements are a personal Google account, access to one verified Business Profile, age 18 or over and Keep Activity on, in the Gemini web app (Google's help page, checked October 22, 2026).
Is Gemini the same as "Reply to reviews with AI" in Business Profile?
No, they are two different places. Gemini works in the Gemini web app once you connect your profile. "Reply to reviews with AI" is an option Search Engine Roundtable reported in some Business Profile dashboards on March 24, 2026, described as a test that uses Google AI to write personalized replies.
Does Gemini keep my Business Profile chats?
Yes, while Keep Activity is on, and it has to be on for the connection. Google stores your Gemini Apps activity in your Google account when Keep Activity is on. For users 18 and over it is on by default, and activity older than 18 months is deleted by default. You can delete it in My Activity, and you can disconnect Business Profile in Gemini's Connected Apps settings at any time.
