No lookup needed. In your Business Profile, click Ask for reviews and copy the link, or find your ID with Google's free Place ID Finder.
2 Pick a style
3 Copy your code
The code uses a placeholder link until you add yours in step 1.
One link with inline styles and an inline star: no script, no stylesheet, nothing loaded from anywhere. Paste it into an HTML block. Steps for WordPress, Wix and Squarespace are below.
Paste it into your email app's signature box (Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail steps). The star is a small image on reputemap.com; the button is a table, which email apps keep.
Show the HTML
Image-only version, if your email app drops the colors
One picture with your link on it. It looks the same in every email app.
The same design as a file, for Canva, print, or a site builder that only takes images. Add it as an image, then link it to your review link.
The PNG is three times the size it shows at, so it stays sharp on phones and in print.
How to add a Google review button to your website
Every website builder has a box for your own HTML. Copy the Website code from step 3 and paste it into that box. The button opens your Google review form in a new tab. Good spots: your footer, your contact page, and the thank-you page people see after they book or buy.
WordPress
- Open the page in the WordPress editor.
- Click + and add a Custom HTML block where the button should go.
- Paste the code, click Preview, then Update.
Using Elementor or another page builder? Its HTML widget does the same job.
Wix
- In the Wix Editor, click Add Elements (+), then Embed Code, then Embed HTML.
- Click Enter Code, paste the code and click Update.
- Drag the box to its spot and make it a little bigger than the button.
Wix shows your code inside its own frame. That's fine: the button opens Google in a new tab.
Squarespace
- Edit the page and click Add Block (or +).
- Choose Code, then click the pencil icon on the block.
- Paste the code and save the page.
The code has no JavaScript, so it works on every Squarespace plan. Squarespace asks for a higher plan only for scripts and iframes (Squarespace help).
Shopify, Webflow or your own HTML
Paste the code into a Custom Liquid section in Shopify's theme editor, a Code Embed element in Webflow, or straight into your page. If a builder only takes pictures, download the PNG from the Image file tab and link it to your review link.
How to add a Google review link to your email signature
A button in your signature asks for a review in every email you send, without you asking out loud. Open the Email signature tab, click Copy signature button, then paste it into your email app and save.
Gmail
- On a computer, open Gmail, click Settings (the gear), then See all settings.
- Scroll to Signature and click in the box under your name.
- Paste, scroll down and click Save Changes. Send yourself a test email.
Gmail allows up to 10,000 characters in a signature, and the button uses far fewer (Gmail help). On your phone, the Gmail app uses this signature unless you set a separate Mobile signature, so leave that one empty.
Outlook
- New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web: Settings → Accounts → Signatures → Add signature. Paste, name it, and save.
- Classic Outlook for Windows: File → Options → Mail → Signatures. Click New, paste, and click OK.
Classic Outlook draws the button with square corners. It still works (Microsoft's steps).
Apple Mail
- Open Mail, then Settings → Signatures. Pick your account and click +.
- Turn off Always match my default message font.
- Paste the button into the signature box.
If the colors disappear
Some email apps strip background colors. In the Email signature tab, open Image-only version, pick a ready-made image and copy that instead. It's one picture with your link, hosted on reputemap.com, with “Review us on Google” as its text for people whose email hides images.
Review button or live star badge: which do you need?
This page makes a review button. It asks for a review and never needs updating. A live badge shows your real star rating and review count, and changes by itself as reviews come in. Many businesses use both: the badge near the top of the website, the button in the footer and in email.
| Review button (this page) | Live star badge (free widget) | |
|---|---|---|
| Shows | “Review us on Google” | Your Google rating and review count |
| Updates | Never needs to | By itself |
| Works in email | Yes | No, websites only |
| Setup | Copy and paste | Connect Google, paste one line of code |
| Cost | Free, no signup | Free for one location, no card |
The live badge is one of the six layouts of ReputeMap's free Google reviews widget. It shows your true average, never rounded up. The free version carries a small “Powered by ReputeMap” link.
Why these buttons have no Google logo
Google's trademark rules say to use only Google-approved artwork for its logos, and not to suggest you work with Google when you don't. So every design here uses a plain star and the words “Review us on Google”. People still know exactly where the button goes.
Google used to hand out official “Review us on Google” stickers in its Business Profile Marketing Kit. That site now just redirects to the Business Profile homepage (we checked on October 22, 2026). For your counter and receipts, print a code with our Google review QR code generator. ReputeMap isn't part of Google, and Google is a trademark of Google LLC.
Where to put your review button
- Your website: the footer, the contact page, and the thank-you page after a booking or an order.
- Email: the signature of everyone who talks to customers, plus your follow-up and receipt emails.
- Paper: invoices and receipts. Use the PNG, or a QR code people can scan.
Two rules from Google's review policy: don't offer anything in return for a review, and don't ask only your happy customers. Show the button to everyone. Need the link on its own, for a text message? The Google review link generator makes it, and our review request templates give you the words.
A button waits. A review request asks.
Most happy customers never click a button on their own. They write a review when you ask them right after the visit. ReputeMap sends that ask for you by email, with your review link inside, and alerts you when a 1–3★ review comes in so you can answer it fast.
- Email and QR review requests come with every plan, from $19 a month (Solo, one location).
- Growth, $39 a month for up to 15 locations, adds email campaigns with automatic reminders.
- Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial: card required, cancel anytime. See all plans.

How do I make a “Review us on Google” button?
Find your business on this page or paste your Google review link, pick a style, and copy the code. The button opens your Google review form in a new tab. It's free, needs no signup and uses no Google logo.
How do I add a Google review button to my email signature?
Open the Email signature tab, click Copy signature button, and paste it into your email app's signature box. In Gmail that's Settings, See all settings, Signature. In Outlook it's Settings, Accounts, Signatures. Save, then send yourself a test email.
Does the button show my star rating?
No. It's a plain button that asks for a review, so it never goes out of date. To show your live star rating and review count, use ReputeMap's free reviews widget. It updates by itself and is free for one location, with no card.
Can I put the Google logo on my review button?
Only with artwork Google has approved. Google's trademark rules say to use only Google-approved artwork for its logos and not to suggest a partnership with Google. That's why these buttons use a plain star and the words “Review us on Google”.
Where do I find my Google review link or Place ID?
In your Google Business Profile, click Ask for reviews and copy Google's short link. Or search your business in Google's free Place ID Finder and copy the ID that starts with ChIJ. Paste either one into this tool.
Why doesn't my review button work when I test it?
Google doesn't show the review form to the account that owns the business. Test the link in a private window, or while signed in with a different Google account. If it still fails, check that the whole Place ID was copied and that your profile is verified.
Does the button work on WordPress, Wix and Squarespace?
Yes. Paste the website code into a Custom HTML block in WordPress, an Embed HTML element in Wix, or a Code block in Squarespace. The code is plain HTML with no JavaScript, so it works on every Squarespace plan.
Can I offer a discount for a Google review?
No. Google's review policy doesn't allow rewards such as payment, discounts or free goods for reviews. It also doesn't allow asking only your happy customers. Show the button to everyone and ask every customer the same way.
